At 6 o'clock in the early morning of June 5th, at the construction site of the Kangzi Chong sluice of the Dangmud Town Reservoir Irrigation District, the scene was already bustling. The roaring of concrete mixers, the clanging of steel bars, and the cutting of panels all blended together, forming a symphony of construction.

"The aqueduct is the 'highway' for water transportation that we have built in the mountains." Hiking Gao, the general manager of the Daxiang Branch Canal Project Department of Horizon Technology Group, explained, "With the help of the aqueduct, the water from the Jundutang Reservoir Hub can be safely and efficiently transported out."

The Jianmu Tang Reservoir Project is one of the 172 major water conservation and supply projects of the state. It is also the single largest water conservancy project invested by Hunan Province. The main construction contents include the powerhouse project and the irrigation area project. After the completion of the project, it can ensure the water supply needs of 900,000 people in the urban area of Shaodong City and Qidong City, effectively solve the drinking water problem for 702,000 people in the irrigation area, improve and increase the irrigated area by 11.3 million mu, and increase the annual grain production by 140 million kilograms.

The citrus irrigation channel is located in Liujia Village, Dahao District, Shaoyang City. It is 150 meters long and has a U-shaped cross-section design. Currently, the construction of the scaffolding is underway. "A total of 10 scaffolds need to be built for the channel," Pan Jinlin explained. The channel construction began on December 24, 2024, and so far, 160.5 meters of pile foundations have been completed, 10 piers (including expansion foundations) have been built, and the construction of the first to fourth single scaffolds has been completed. Currently, the main project has been completed and passed the acceptance inspection, three months ahead of schedule. In the irrigation project, the tunnel project has completed 110.6 kilometers, accounting for 76.02% of the total length. It is expected that the canal system will be fully completed by the end of June 2026.
